Introduction: This notice announces an amendment to Schedule 1 of the Customs and Excise Act to update General Note O by formally recognising Nigeria as a State Party under the AfCFTA. The change, effective retrospectively from 30 May 2025, further aligns South Africa’s tariff framework with the AfCFTA agreement and its expanding membership base.
