Introduction: This brief details a national workshop held in Malawi to strengthen capacity on AfCFTA rules of origin, with participation from customs officials and private-sector representatives. The programme focused on product-specific rules, certification, and verification procedures to ensure correct application of preferential tariffs—an essential pillar in facilitating intra-African trade and supporting Malawi’s readiness for AfCFTA implementation.
