Introduction: This update outlines a virtual workshop convened by the WCO, COMESA, and the AfCFTA Secretariat to build regional capacity on Cumulation of Origin, a key mechanism supporting regional value chains and trade under Africa’s free trade architecture. Participants explored opportunities for aligning cumulation rules between COMESA and AfCFTA, while addressing administrative, documentary, and compliance considerations required to strengthen Africa’s economic integration agenda.
